We first offered this trip at our 2005 banquet, and already have it confirmed for the 2008 banquet, so
we will try to give you some more information on this Live Auction item.

This is not just a fishing trip, it could be a great family vacation.

Ennis, MT is just west of Big Sky, MT and is one hour northwest of Yellowstone National Park.  Ennis is
in the Madison Valley and is located in some of the best rainbow and brown trout fishing in the United
States.

If you choose to fly, Delta and other airlines fly into Bozeman, MT which is about 45 minutes from Ennis.
You may check their flight schedules by going to the
Delta Airlines web site.

The house is a very nicely appointed log home, with 4 bedrooms and will sleep up to six people.  The
house is dog and smoker friendly.  The house has been extensively renovated and has a full kitchen, with
cookware and utensils, 2 bathrooms and laundry facilities.
More photos of the house are available by
clicking here.

Your trip includes two days of guided float fishing for two people each day with Montana Trout Stalkers.
You may visit their website using the link on the left side of this page.  Joe Dilschneider and all of his
guides are very pleasant, hard working young men who do everything they can to make sure their clients
are happy and catch fish.  Additional days or additional boats my be purchased at your expense.

Montana mountain and prairie grouse seasons begin September 1.  Mountain grouse (ruffed, spruce
and Franklin) can be hunted in the nearby mountains open to public hunting.  Prairie grouse (sharptail
and sage) and Hungarian partridge can be hunted at the many public areas within one hour of Ennis.
Ennis also has an Orvis endorsed shooting preserve, Diamond Wing, and reservations can be made with
them, at additional cost.

Your license(s) may be purchased on line at https://app.discoveringmontana.com/elicensesales/

Additional information on Montana tourism can be found at http://www.visitmt.com/ and information on
Ennis, MT can be found at the Chamber of Commerce website,
http://www.ennischamber.com/.    Ennis
hosts a flyfishing festival over the Labor Day weekend, and this could be a good time for your visit.

Ennis, while only 600 people, has a good variety of restaurants, with many of them having white table
cloth dining.
Ennis was also the location where the HBO movie "Taking Chance", starring Kevin Bacon,
was filmed.

The 2005 trip was purchased by Carol Schnipper and our group of 5 visited Ennis during their Labor
Day flyfishing festival. Several raffles were held and everyone in our group won at least one prize.  Laura
Bales won the raffle for a Sage flyrod and Carol won the Madison River Foundation prize of an Orvis T3
flyrod.  We had a great time, and were very surprised at how nice the house was and how well it was
furnished.  This is not some fishing shack!  We would go back in an instant.

Butler County Pheasants Forever
The ladies won new fly rods on the trip!
A great way to start the trip.
Carol Schnipper proves that she knows
how to use that new flyrod and shows off
a nice Madison River brown trout.
Mike Schnipper was having trouble
locating the trigger on the fly rod, but
still managed to boat some nice fish.
One of the local residents did not
seem to approve our stopping for
lunch right under his preferred roost.
Even though the eagle didn't like having us
around, we had a great view to go with our
lunch.
Some upland seasons open as early as
September 1, and you can make your
Montana visit a cast and blast.
Ennis even has an Orvis endorsed
shooting preserve,
Diamond Wing.
